About

The Association of Detectorists has been formed as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company ‘asset-locked’ to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. This means that the initiative to form a research and educational Institute of Detectorists will have two forms of legal responsibility, through both Companies House and the Charities Commission.

Our Mission is to research, create and provide an educational programme to suit many stakeholders, from detectorists to landowners, schools to history societies, archaeologists to developers promoting the benefits of metal detecting carried out responsibly with values set in heritage conservation.
